I found this FANTASTIC recipe in the “Scandinavian Holiday Recipes” flip cookbook. The cookbook claims it is THE kringle recipe from the O&H Danish bakery in Racine, Wisconsin. At first I thought that this kringle recipe might be too labor intensive, but it is more time than labor that is required for this kringle recipe. This recipe is FAMOUS in Wisconsin. This kringle is soo flavorful and absolutely melts on your tongue. You have to make this recipe (and save yourself a bundle of dough, no pun intended, to boot). This kringle recipe is soo good it sells for over $20 a piece. Read more
Oh how I miss Bavaria and the delicious crispy German pork knuckle. This is by far one of my favorite pork recipes and is very sentimental for me. This recipe is popular in Bavaria and once you’ve tried it you will know why. The crackle of the exterior paired with the soft, mouth watering, juicy interior and you will be hooked. So get ready to travel to Bavaria on this culinary adventure and make sure you pop open a Bavarian lager to go with this dish to make it a truly authentic meal. Also don’t forget the dumplings. Oh man I’m already hungry. Read more
This time we will be taking a culinary adventure to Greece for one of my favorite Greek dishes. This spinach and feta pie is also known as spanakopita. This spanakopita recipe is just the ultimate. It includes dill and caramelized onions and a slight zing from garlic. It tastes very traditional and authentic and is easy to make if you buy the phyllo dough. Read more

My grandma’s aka oma’s German potato salad recipe is the ultimate potato salad. I always get complements and requests for this recipe. It’s vinegar based and lighter than other potato salads but the flavor is better!! I guarantee you will fall in love with this recipe. Oh my gosh guys this pumpkin cheesecake is just to-die-for! It’s soo creamy and has a hint of maple, vanilla, cinnamon, and a dash of the very necessary, for this pumpkin cheesecake, allspice. The hint of allspice is barely noticeable but if it was left out it would taste more like a vanilla maple cheesecake than pumpkin cheesecake. It gives it just the right zing without being overly spicy. This recipe is not as spicy as pumpkin pie or bread and more on the maple vanilla side. To try this pumpkin cheesecake recipe is to fall in love with it. Read more
This Hungarian cucumber salad is refreshing and crisp plus herby and extremely delicious. It has a little tang from garlic as well. There is nothing like the crispness of fresh cucumbers especially if you are lucky enough to grow your own. I like to get my cucumber, in season, for the ultimate fresh tasting salad. Cucumber season lasts from the middle of May till June. Read more
A caramelized onion flatbread recipe? ABSOLUTELY and it is extremely delicious! Imagine caramelized onions on a delightful fluffy soft dough, with cheese, and you will be in savory cake heaven. In German this recipe is called “Zwiebelkuchen vom Blech” directly translated it means onion sheet cake. However, it is not a “cake” but rather a type of flatbread or even pizza. Onion cake does not sound as tantalizing as caramelized onion flatbread. There is definitely no sugar except a pinch to help the dough rise. Read more
Cherry And Coconut Loaf Recipe English Vintage Teatime Cake
This cherry and Coconut loaf or tea bread with moist, juicy, chewy glace cherries is the ultimate tea time treat. Well it’s definately a favorite in our house. It is super moist and has excellent crumb. It’s very cake like and tender. It just one of the best vintage tea time recipes and hails from a “Vintage Teatime Recipes” cookbook I purchased in the UK. The taste of the coconut definately comes through and the cherries help make it super moist. This recipe was even moist the next day when kept in a airtight container. Read more
